The Fourth Doctor presents evidence of Chang's success. (TV: The Talons of Weng-Chiang)

Li H'sen Chang performed a trick using what he called a "magic bullet". In 1889, at the Palace Theatre, Chang asked the Fourth Doctor to participate in the act. He threw him a deck of cards and asked him to select one. The Doctor showed Chang and the audience the ace of diamonds and returned it to the deck, which he shuffled.

Chang told the audience he would fire a magic bullet through the deck, hitting only the chosen card. The Doctor brought the pack closer to his face. Leela was anxious as Chang had previously attempted to kill the Doctor.

The bullet was fired. The Doctor held up his card. The others were undamaged and the ace of diamonds had a hole through the diamond pictured on it. (TV: The Talons of Weng-Chiang)
