That's not how it's delivered in-dialogue. For the Eleventh Doctor maybe we can list it like that because it's worded in several different ways, but with the Fourth and Seventh the dialogue is delivered as "First Rule" or something like that. --Tangerineduel / talk 13:45, January 4, 2012 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure the Doctor never mentions "rule 408: Time is not the boss of you" in the episode The Waters of Mars. Eleven is the first to mention that rule. As for Eleven's rule 408, should it not be "You should always waste time when you don't have any. Time is not the boss of you"? Hi!  Was reading the list of rules and I'm pretty positive that "Never knowingly be serious" is rule 427.

Isn't this River's rule one, for the Doctor? 'cause it's not actually his rule, just a rule about him. I don't think he ever says it.

Conjectureedit source

Someone's placed the conjecture tag, stating that the title's based on conjecture. Seeing as it's just an informal title, and there is no real "official" title, I suggest that this tag be removed.

It was placed up because someone belived they may not be the Doctor's rules, but may be like Timelords, or River Song's. I believe if this is the case the name should still stand beacause those are the rules that the doctor follows --User:Landisnicholas 09:06 31/8/11 EST

The fact that it lacks an official title necessitates the conjecture.--Skittles the hog - talk 13:11, August 31, 2011 (UTC)

Rule 54edit source

Is Rule 54 actually a rule, because I watched both episodes, and I never heard him say that it was 54, he just said it was part of his rules. So where does he say it is rule 54? ---Landisnicholas 09:10 31/8/11 EST ---

Wording of the rulesedit source

The rules aren't exactly spoken as Zero-Zero-One etc are they?

That's not how it's delivered in-dialogue. For the Eleventh Doctor maybe we can list it like that because it's worded in several different ways, but with the Fourth and Seventh the dialogue is delivered as "First Rule" or something like that. --Tangerineduel / talk 13:45, January 4, 2012 (UTC)

Rules listedit source

Hi! Was reading the list of rules and I'm pretty positive that "Never knowingly be serious" is rule 427.

1. The Doctor Liesedit source

Isn't this River's rule one, for the Doctor? 'cause it's not actually his rule, just a rule about him. I don't think he ever says it.
