Squaddie was a slang term used to refer to soldiers. Amy Pond said that she "love[d] a squaddie" when talking to a Dalek which was assuming the persona of a British Army Ironside. (TV: Victory of the Daleks) "Ozzie loves the squaddie" was a minor meme that travelled around Coal Hill School, squaddie refering to former soldier Danny Pink while Ozzie refered to Clara Oswald.
