In 1997, a Jathaa sunglider was shot down by the Torchwood Institute over the North Sea and kept in Torchwood 1 (DW: Army of Ghosts). Its weapons system was back-engineered for use against alien invasions, the only known use of it being against the Sycorax spaceship on December 25 2006 (DW: The Christmas Invasion).
