Stephansdom

Stephansdom was a cathedral in the city of Vienna. It gave the name to the surrounding square, Stephansplatz. A staircase leading to the cathedral tower was at least 137 steps high.

On the night from 11 to 12 September 1873, Mary Shelley brought Cybermen Bremm and Gramm to Stephansdom. When she proposed that a Galvanic lightning could provide an energy burst sufficient to restore their systems, the two Cybermen decided to ascend to the top of the tower. From the top of the stairs where they had left Mary, she and the Eighth Doctor observed the two Cybermen, climbing up the spire, being struck by a lightning and then jumping from the spire down.

At the same time, Alfred Stahlbaum was praying in the cathedral. (AUDIO: The Silver Turk)
