Alpha was one of three altered Daleks given the Human Factor as an experiment by the Dalek Emperor, the others being Beta and Omega. (DW: The Evil of the Daleks) Alpha survived the Dalek Civil War on Skaro and lead a group of Humanized Daleks to a planet where they survived and bred. However they were manipulated by Kata Phobus a telepathic parasite. They destroyed themselves to prevent it from feeding from them. (DWM: Children of the Revolution)
