Gebek was a Peladonian trisilicate miner, and the only one who favoured negotiations with Queen Thalira instead of armed rebellion. He joined forces with Ortron when the Ice Warriors led by Azaxyr took over, and aided the Third Doctor in exposing their plans. Afterwards, Thalira appointed him the new Chancellor of Peladon, regardless of the fact he did not hail from royal heritage. The Doctor put in a good word on Gebek's behalf, knowing the queen would try to recruit him as her chancellor when the Doctor preferred to continue travelling in his TARDIS. (TV: The Monster of Peladon)
