Josie was an East Ender in 1888.
She was friends with Long Liz and lived somewhere in Spitalfields. At 12:30 am on 30 September, she had been singing and drinking with Liz. Josie had had too much gin and was in high spirits but Liz wanted to go home. Josie asked a man who had been staring at Liz if he would walk them home and mocked him when he quickly walked off. Liz decided to make her own way back while Josie sang "Girls, We Would Never Stand It". (COMIC: Ripper's Curse)
Behind the scenes
None of the characters in Ripper's Curse are identified as prostitutes. The novel Matrix identifies the victims and Stride specifically as prostitutes.
