Laurence Payne appeared in several Doctor Who television stories: as Johnny Ringo in The Gunfighters, Morix in The Leisure Hive and Dastari in The Two Doctors. He also provided the uncredited voice of the Space Station Camera computer in the latter story. (DWM 195)
Payne's other credits included roles on Interpol Calling, Z-Cars, The Saint, The Main Chance and The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes. However, he is best known for playing the title character in Sexton Blake. Payne also wrote eleven detective novels from the 1960s onwards.
