A generator operator is a technician in the electrical department under the gaffer. As operator of all generators to equipment and vehicles, the generator operator is tasked with ensuring safe operation, and maintaining adequate fuel levels at all times. Any necessary repairs are done by them.

To date, generator operators have only been credited on An Adventure in Space and Time, for which Ricky Davis and Dan Smith sat with the generators, ensuring their proper operation.
