Launched in April 2006 and coinciding with the arrival of the Tenth Doctor, Doctor Who Adventures was aimed at younger readers and from issue 47 was a weekly title. It had a series of regular features that included posters, fact-files (main features), collectable one page alien guides, favourite scenes (told as photo-stories), previews, reviews, behind the scenes features, questions and answers, some interviews and an assortment of quizzes, puzzles, activities and make-its (usually a cut-out mask), and competitions, as well as readers' letters, pictures and artwork.

Issue 360 saw the Twelfth Doctor as the lead character of the magazine.
