I believe Siege mode is independent of the chameleon circuit and the circuit only decides what the TARDIS looks like, not whether it changes. Just two points I wanted to stress and that may be useful. Is it me or the TARDIS in siege mode becomes somewhat similar to the Pandorica? And I haven't watched the classic series, but for the first time since 1996, at least, the TARDIS takes a different shape.
