Klaus was a villager who lived in Klimtenburg during the 19th century. He met the Eleventh Doctor, who helped investigate the cause of a plague. After the Doctor discovered a crashed Cyber-ship underground, Klaus voluntarily helped to defend his village from an attack by Cybermen. After battling the Cybermen in the interior of the castle owned by Lord Ernhardt and Lady Marie Ernhardt, Klaus enjoyed a peaceful life with his long-time friend and love interest, Olga Bordmann.
