Clark Goodman was the head of the Eightfold Truth. After Lucie Miller became the chosen one, he started to become wary of his prophecies. (AUDIO: The Eight Truths)
At some point before 2015, Goodman found some Metebelis crystals in Yorkshire and began to use their power to make people think whatever he told them. With this he created the Eightfold Truth, unaware that he was under the influence of the Eight Legs the whole time. When he understood his actions he helped the Eighth Doctor to defeat the Eight Legs. (AUDIO: Worldwide Web)
