Bunker

A bunker was a fortified shelter, usually underground, designed to protect the inhabitants from attack.

In 1945, Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun took shelter in the Führerbunker beneath Berlin when Germany began losing World War II. (PROSE: The Shadow in the Glass)
