Cricket pad
The Fifth Doctor wearing leg pads. (COMIC: The Tides of Time)

Cricket pads were protective garments, often worn on the legs, whilst playing the game. Nyssa once mistakenly called them "strange leggings", and claimed that she couldn't get used to seeing the Doctor wearing them. Indeed, she called them "funny", an epithet which induced the Fifth Doctor's ire. He jokingly threatened to withhold her supply of biscuits because of the remark. (AUDIO: Autumn)
