Michael Anders was a Martian war hero.
He was part of the UN peacekeeping force assigned to Mars in 2147. He joined the Martian Axis, but left when he learned their stated goal of peacefully living with the Martians was a cover for civil disobedience and outright terrorism.
He left the solar system to find the planet where the Martians had resettled. Though he was unsuccessful, he did discover a small nest they had made on a world in the Rataculan system which they called Cluut-ett-Pictar. He stayed there for a year, writing his sister weekly about all he was learning. When an Arcturan strike-force attacked, he died defending the nest. He was considered a hero by the Martian people for his bravery and honourable death. (PROSE: GodEngine)
