Name change[[edit source]]

The Emojibots aren't actually called Emojibots. The Doctor refers to the nanobots as the 'Vardi' and refers to the Emojibots as the 'Vardi' at the end when he starts up the negotiations between the humans and the robots. For this reason, I think the name of this page should be changed.

EDIT: Someone changed the name of the page while I was writing this. Scoobydooman90001 20:45 April 22, 2017 (UTC)

Aren't the Emojibots described in the episode by the Doctor as an interface to the Vardie? --Borisashton 19:48, April 22, 2017 (UTC)
I'll let you all talk it out. I haven't seen the episode yet in Canada.

I think the Doctor does say that, but he seems to be referring to the robots and the city as one individual at the end. He says it's "their city. It's made of them." Scoobydooman90001 20:57 April 22, 2017 (UTC)
I would interpret like this: the Vardi are the nanobots, and the Emojibots are their interface, their psychical presence you might say. --Borisashton 20:02, April 22, 2017 (UTC)

Controversial thought: But are they even called "Emojibots" in the episode? OS25 (Talk) 22:16, April 22, 2017 (UTC)

I'm not sure, but they are in the credits, which we generally consider valid. JagoAndLitefoot 22:19, April 22, 2017 (UTC)
The Vardi are indeed only the small robots, Emojibots are the interfaces. --DCLM 22:24, April 22, 2017 (UTC)
Yes they are called Emojibots. Even before the episode broadcast, they were called Emojibots. --DCLM 22:24, April 22, 2017 (UTC)
I am 97% sure that it is spelled "Vardie" but if the BBC Iplayer subtiles say it is Vardy then it is Vardy The preceding unsigned comment was added by MLGiraffe14 (talk • contribs) .

It's not that it makes the title invalid, but rather that it's best to word the article not to use the name.

However, the page should not be renamed Vardy, as they are a separate idea. Our policies call for us to have as many pages as possible. Ever in the Emoji-Bots are made up of Vardy, that doesn't mean we can only cover one, in the same sense that we should still have a page on the city even if we have a page on the micro-organisms that make up the city. OS25 (Talk) 11:35, April 23, 2017 (UTC)

I'd say they are like the Nestene Consciousness vs. the Autons. JagoAndLitefoot 13:40, April 23, 2017 (UTC)
There really shouldn't be any doubt that these are called Emojibots, since they are named so in the credits and hence ARE different from Vardies. --DCLM 22:04, April 23, 2017 (UTC)
