The way I see it is that she IS a companion. She was asked to be a companion by the Doctor and fulfilled the role of the companion in Robo Rampage. This is more than can be said for people like Lady Christina de Souza who was denied companionship. --86.166.43.154talk to me 18:39, January 5, 2017 (UTC) | The way I see it is that she IS a companion. :: Christina is a companion without the need of an argument because the BBC has called her one. We don't have such a stance with Osgood. OS25 (Talk) 16:24, May 4, 2017 (UTC) |

Species
Osgood is said to be both "Zygon" and "Human" at the same time while Zygon Osgood is only "Zygon". Shouldn't at least one of them be changed? --DCLM ☎ 18:36, November 1, 2015 (UTC)
Name
She said her first name was Petronella, sure, but does anyone believe for a second that the Doctor's first name is actually Basil? Kai Ell ☎ 02:18, November 8, 2015 (UTC)

- For what it's worth, Big Finish is also now using the name "Petronella" officially. JagoAndLitefoot ☎ 01:12, November 12, 2015 (UTC)
- It's also appeared on the BBC site: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/profiles/nb0PrNpn29JsBkggCkrytT/osgood JagoAndLitefoot ☎ 01:14, November 12, 2015 (UTC)

- Blogtor Who pointed out on twitter that Basil means King, while Petronella is a patron saint of kings. I can see "Petronella" being Osgood's way of calling the Doctor's bluff and I wonder if anyone asked Steven Moffat before changing the official website etc. Prof. Chronotis ☎ 23:38, November 12, 2015 (UTC)
The speedy rename tag has been changed to a rename tag because there is a forum discussion at Thread:183821 over what to do with the multiple Osgood types. So until that thread is resolved, there is no rush to change this page name. Shambala108 ☎ 22:11, November 12, 2015 (UTC)
I changed it to Petronella without realising the rule about the naming can someone change it back please All Hail Aslan ☎ 12:14, November 15, 2015 (UTC)
All done but it should be changed to petronella osgood since all the people who take osgoods form become osgood. All Hail Aslan ☎ 12:17, November 15, 2015 (UTC)
I think it should be Petronella Osgood. That is her full name. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lehpey (talk • contribs) .
The Doctor Who The Official Annual 2017's short storry Yes Missy has one Osgood mail the other, using the names Petronella also. I think it's best to rename until proven otherwise, because a lot of sources use this name - even if they hadn't asked Moffat is this is genuine, personally. I don't understand why it hasn't been changed. The general consensus agrees it should be Petronella Osgood. Xx-connor-xX ☎ 14:41, January 2, 2017 (UTC)
- I agree (though I am not general consensus :)). It remains to find an admin who agrees: only admins are allowed to move pages. Amorkuz ☎ 14:43, January 2, 2017 (UTC)
companionship
There appears to be at least two editors thinking that Osgood is a companion of the Twelfth Doctor and at least two (including myself) insisting she is not. I propose to stop toggling the category until a consensus is reached, based on the discussion I now start by laying down the main argument (credit for it goes to TheChampionOfTime) against her being a companion: the Doctor's own words from Robo Rampage. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Amorkuz (talk • contribs) 20:58, December 28, 2016 .
- I think she should be considered a one story companion of the twelfth (as she took the role of his companion in the Zygon two-parter). She shouldn't be considered a companion in the Death in Heaven episode though as she didn't travel with the Doctor. Xx-connor-xX ☎ 21:04, December 28, 2016 (UTC)
- The Doctor seems pretty definitive, though. She's not his companion. "I'm ideal material. It's just that my work here on Earth is too important."
- The Doctor offered to take her with him and Clara in their travels. "Do you want to come?" She replied, "More than anything. But I think I have to stay."
- Is the argument being made that she was briefly a companion in the Zygon stories? But then why isn't Kate a companion, for example, as well? The companion in those stories is still Clara. Osgood is a recurring character, but I don't think the Doctor's companion.
