Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!
We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:
- the listing of all our help, policy and guideline pages
- our Manual of Style
- our image use policy
- our user page policy
- a list of people whose job it is to help you
If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! — you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:
Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask on my talk page. Doug86 ☎ 10:26, October 19, 2015 (UTC)
Edit warring[[edit source]]
Hi! Please do not change the information on Nollarr (The Girl Who Died). If it's wrong, then bring it up for discussion on the talk page and explain your reasoning. That's how we do it on this wiki. If you continue to change this page without discussion, you will be violating T:NO WARS#Edit wars. Thanks. Shambala108 ☎ 18:28, October 19, 2015 (UTC)
Nollarr[[edit source]]
Ok, so here's the deal. We have quite a lot of rules on this wiki, and one of them involves making sure that information placed on the wiki is properly sourced. We don't use IMDB as a source, because anyone can edit it and it is therefore not very reliable.
However, that doesn't mean we can't fix the issue. I have not seen the episode in question, but I can imagine that someone created the page for Nollarr and mixed him up with Hasten. If there is some way of specifying which character is which, preferably using story dialogue and such, then an admin can go about changing the page name. I'll make a post on the talk page for Nollarr (The Girl Who Died), asking for any type of clarification that we can use. Shambala108 ☎ 00:45, October 20, 2015 (UTC)
Thank you. There is also an incorrect attribution under the topic Sonic Sunglasses. Nollarr didn't break the sunglasses, Hasten did. Under the heading Sonic Sunglasses you still have a picture of me, playing Hasten, incorrectly titled Nollarr. If the person providing the original listing had seen the episode he would know that the red headed viking with the horned hemlet (in the jpeg) is the one who broke the sunglasses. He can then check with the BBC web-site to see that is was a character called Hasten.
Thanks again

Gratitude[[edit source]]
Hey! Just wanted to give you some well deserved thanks over your help with the Nollarr/Hasten error. It's always an unfortunate reality that silly mistakes can go unnoticed even when every contributor is keeping a watchful eye on the wiki. Your information aided me in fixing a simple but widespread factual error, and that sort of help often goes unnoticed.
I'm not an admin, I'm not even a long-standing editor (only started this malarkey four or so months ago). But I'd still like to give you my best wishes and most heartfelt thanks. It's always great to have a new contributor, and it's especially exciting (well, for me at least) to have someone who has been part of the creative process on the actual show involved.
Yours sincerely, RogerAckroydLives ☎ 10:12, October 20, 2015 (UTC)
Hi Roger,
Thank you for all your help. It looks fine now. Just thought it was better to sort out now, before it becomes 'set in stone' on the www.
