The Cheetah People are a race of predatory cheetah-like humanoids. Very little is known about them.

Physical characteristics

Appearance

The Cheetah People had the heads of cheetahs and thick, spotted fur. They also have distinctive golden eyes, retractable claws and sharp fangs. They had an excellent sense of smell which they can use to track their prey.

Some of the Cheetah People, like Karra, the Cheetah Person Ace would befriend, began as Near-Humans, gradually acquiring cheetah characteristics (so below). Their eyes change to golden feline slits and they develop fangs. At the moment of her death, Karra reverted to her previous Near-human form.

Culture and abilities

The Cheetah People generally wore leather and trophies from their hunts. They used horses as mounts. They had the ability to teleport from planet to planet, but they can only bring back prey to their homeworld. Cheetah People are a dangerous, but playful, race. They will only go after food which is moving and will attempt to make hunts more interesting.

We do not know if the planet facilitated this or if the Cheetah People could do this on their own.

The Cheetah People have a symbiotic relationship with their world, as well as with the native kitlings. The planet is almost alive and is mentally connected with the Cheetah People. If the Cheetah People fight, the planet starts to destroy itself. The Cheetah People also use the kitlings to find new sources of food, since they can mentally control them.

Persons influenced enough that they had started to turn into Cheetah People include the Master, Ace, Midge and the Doctor, with Karra, from an unknown planet, affected so deeply that she completely transformed permanently.

History

The history of the Cheetah People remains completely unknown. The Cheetah World may have destroyed itself in the upheavals that happened there in the 20th century. (DW: Survival).
