Prelude Strange England was, as the name suggested, a prelude to Strange England by Simon Messingham. It did not appear in the published novel.

Summary

Dr. Patrick Rix, while on the way home from work, discusses the link between physical health and spiritual health with a colleague. Upon arriving at his house, he is horrified to learn that his wife has died in childbirth and his baby son is a cripple.
