Josie was an East Ender in 1888.
She was friends with Long Liz and lived somewhere in Spitalfields. At 12:30 am on 30 September, she had been singing and drinking with Liz. Josie had had too much gin and was in high spirits but Liz wanted to go home. Josie asked a man who had been staring at Liz if he would walk them home and mocked him when he quickly walked off.
