In 16087, after ten thousand years in suspended animation, the inhabitants of the Nerva Beacon were reawakened by the Fourth Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith and Harry Sullivan, who also helped them deal with a Wirrn infestation. (TV: The Ark in Space) They then aided in repairing their transmat and defeating Styre's attempts to enable a Sontaran invasion of the galaxy. (TV: The Sontaran Experiment)
After the Nerva inhabitants recolonised Earth, the Olympic Games were resumed. However, the fragmentary historical records stated that the Games were held every fourth of a year instead of once every four years. They were being held in the planet's main settlement, Nerva City, the former site of New York City, at the time of the Sixth Doctor and Flip Jackson's arrival in the city in 16127.
