Story notes

Mark Gatiss was to pen the story that was going to be a sequel to his most recent Doctor Who story, Sleep No More. However, when he heard that Steven Moffat was leaving as showrunner and this was possibly his last story for the show he instead decided to "do the thing [he'd] always wanted to do - the Ice Warriors on Mars." The result eventually became Empress of Mars. The story also had a brief career as a third Peladon-story. (DOC: The Ice Warriors On Mars!)
