A model maker is a member of production who crafts three-dimensional models of a set or design. Though many model makers are also prop makers, the products of a model maker's labours do not appear on set, so they more truly belong to special effects than to the art department.
The credit was first given in the DWU in 2010, to Julia Jones for A Christmas Carol. Later, in 2016, Alan Hardy served as model maker for Class. 2017 saw Hardy joined by Jamie Thomas, and the pair worked on Doctor Who proper.
