Mickey Smith had a mother.
According to Rose, Mickey's mum "couldn't cope". His dad, Jackson Smith stayed around for a while but "just sort of wandered off", meaning Mickey grew up with his grandmother, Rita-Anne Smith. (TV: Rise of the Cybermen)
