James Marsters (born 20th August 1962) in an American actor who played John Hart in the Torchwood episodes Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, Fragments and Exit Wounds.
Marsters' is best known for his performances as the vampire Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off, Angel. As Spike, Marsters affected a convincing British accent; he subsequently often appears on fan "wish lists" of potential actors to play the Doctor.
Another noted role is as King Piccolo in Dragonball Evolution.
In August 2009 it was announced that Marsters will have a recurring role in the upcoming Battlestar Galactica prequel series, Caprica, which begins airing in North America in 2010.
Outside of acting, Marsters is a guitarist. He has a son named Sullivan born in 1996.
