The Cwejen were a race of duplicates of Chris Cwej created by the Great Houses for military use during the War in Heaven through the Army of One technique.
Most Cwejen took one of three forms: the original, blond, and handsome "Cwej-Prime"; the fat and balding "Cwej-Plus"; and the monstrous and heavily-armoured "Cwej-Magnus".
The original Cwej was planned to lead the Army, but his behavior at the Gauntlet was considered too erratic and Damen was instead appointed chief commander. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
The Cwejen did not retain the conscious memories of their progenitor, but they were affected by his memories on an unconscious level. Some Cwejen who aided the Time Lord Straxus on a mission to 19th century Earth went mad for this reasons. One of these, who adopted the name Septimus from a human, began committing strange crimes themed with the number seven in an attempt to draw the attention of their "pale god", "Mister Seven". Some House Military strategists derogatorily referred to the Cwejen as the "Little House of Cwejes". (PROSE: The Book of the War)
