Keepsake was a Seventh Doctor comic published in Doctor Who Magazine.

Summary

Keepsake sets his ship down on the planet Ryos, hoping to salvage the wreckage of a ship that had sent out a distress signal. When the natives emerge in pursuit of the Doctor, Keepsake tries to leave. The Doctor leaps in front of the ship's landing gear, unbalancing the ship's gyros, forcing it back into landing.

Oblivious to the fact that Keepsake came for purely selfish reasons, the Doctor praises his help and enlists his aid in rescuing a medic from the natives. Flying low over their village, the Doctor uses industrial detonators to create confusion, allowing him to rescue the medic. Against his instincts, Keepsake decides he's enjoying this too much and stays to help keep the natives at bay. Later, the beautiful medic thanks Keepsake and kisses him on the cheek, much to the consternation of Keepsake's vulture.

Notes

  • Nowhere in this comic is any date given. The Ryosians, Bahlia and Keepsake's wife, Thea (alluded to), go unnamed in this comic. What kind of business Huggy's is or where it's located is not specified. These all come from Keepsake's subsequent appearance in the Death's Head series.
