Professor Meechley was a biologist who taught at the University of Cambridge. Liz Shaw had studied under him. In the 1970s, Philip Larrent, a distant relative of his, tried to get an alien specimen from Sayle College to Meechley so he could examine it, but his car crashed on the way.
