In 1866, Henry Gordon Jago auditioned for the role of Romeo in Romeo and Juliet. He also worked as a cleaner at the theatre. (AUDIO: The Year of the Bat)

The theatre had electrical lights, which Jago considered "newfangled". (AUDIO: The Similarity Engine)
Jago left the Alhambra Theatre when he took over the operation of the New Regency Theatre. (AUDIO: The Theatre of Dreams)
