Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Artificials share numerous similarities with the Gangers in TV: The Rebel Flesh / The Almost People.

Firstly, they are made from similar material to the Flesh, which uses the DNA of the original crew to form duplicate bodies. The crew treats the Artificials as a lesser species and only see them as slaves. When their work is completed, the Artificials are reduced back to their Flesh-like liquid and new Artificials are made.
