Hans Lippershey

Hans Lippershey was a German lensmaker. Galileo Galilei created a telescope based on Lippershey's work, using accounts from friends and spies. He presented it to the Doge of Venice, but kept the source of his inspiration to himself. (PROSE: The Empire of Glass)
