Iron was the son of Roger Buchman and Veronica Buchman and the brother Toasty Buchman. When Flip Jackson had crashed on the ice, he terrorised her through the radio. Fifteen years earlier, he and his father were testing out a new transmat system, when he was transmatted into a Wirrn and became one. He loved the transmat, and constantly wanted to be transmatted. He transmatted into the Buchman's house at the same time as Sheer Jawn so absorbed his knowledge and then killed his father as he was surplus to requirements. (AUDIO: Wirrn Isle)
