Malsan was an Aridian who met the First Doctor on Aridius.
He told the Doctor and Barbara about the Mire Beasts and warned them that the airlock would be detonated. He also told them that the Daleks had contacted the Aridians about the Doctor and his companions. He was to take them to the airlock but was interrupted by a Mire Beast. (TV: The Chase)
