Mrs Hartley was the wife of Mr Hartley and the mother of Frank and Yvonne Hartley. Sometime before the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa came to Mondas, Mrs Hartley died. Mr Hartley sold her body parts on the black market. He also kept an ornament which belonged to her. (AUDIO: Spare Parts)
