Stan Garratt and his wife Peggy lived in Nottinghamshire. They had a son named Neville. Stan was an engineer.
In 1967, when Peggy accidentally came away with a necklace stolen by the Fifth Doctor, Stan hid it in their air raid shelter. He and Turlough helped distract the aliens who came looking for the necklace, allowing the Doctor and Turlough to escape. (PROSE: One Wednesday Afternoon)
