Susan Q was a member of the Happiness Patrol that initially arrested Ace. Susan confided in Ace of the troubles she faced under the ruling of Helen A, and eventually freed Ace. After Susan Q was arrested for this crime, she was sentenced to death alongside the quickly-captured Ace. They were saved by the Seventh Doctor.

After escaping, Susan Q helped them overthrow the Happiness Patrol. Once the rebellion had succeeded, she and Earl Sigma set about changing their colony for the better. (TV: The Happiness Patrol)
