A news anchor reported on the return of the Holy Roman Emperor to Buckingham Palace in an alternate timeline. (TV: The Wedding of River Song)
Behind the scenes
- Meredith Vieira, co-host of the American morning news/chat programme Today, filmed her cameo during a visit to the Upper Boat Studios as part of a profile of Doctor Who produced for Today. That feature, which aired on 9 May 2011, contained several minor spoilers for this episode, including revealing the cameo appearances by Richard Hope as Malohkeh and Ian McNeice as Winston Churchill.
- The news anchor is not identified by name, so whether she is actually the Whoniverse version of Meredith Vieira is a matter of debate. The Doctor Who website, however, credits Meredith Vieira as portraying herself in the episode.[1]
