Colin Jeavons (born 20 October 1929[1]) played Damon in the Doctor Who television story The Underwater Menace and George Tracey in the K9 and Company television story A Girl's Best Friend.

His best known role is probably that of Inspector Lestrade in the various Granada Sherlock Holmes series starring Jeremy Brett. He also played Tim Stamper in House of Cards and it's sequel To Play the King.
