Conscience was the police force for Light City. The proles called them when a law was broken. For example they took a Male Prole away for asking a question. They had inferior personnel called Sub-conscience who helped them. They could access the infotainment schedule. The Editor wanted to check if he had been affected by the Male Prole. They interrogated a nurse. They started to suspect the editor. One conscience was taken by the Editor, and talked about remembering things they shouldn't. This conscience believed that she was Charley Pollard. (AUDIO: The Natural History of Fear)
