Teti was a son of Amenhotep II and brother to Thutmose IV, Mentu, and Erimem. (PROSE: The Last Pharaoh)

After some time away from his father's palace, Teti returned around the time of Thutmose's murder. Shortly after he came down with fever. He recovered from the fever, but it left him weak. He was able to attend Mentu's marriage to Princess Miral, though left after a short while.

When his father returned from his war with the Nubians, Teti was poisoned by his handmaiden, Mari, on the orders of Horemshep.
