The ''only'' exceptions to this rule are articles about the ''[[Doctor Who]]'' franchise and production (eg. articles on tv series, books, comics, actors, staff, etc.), which naturally are not part of the ''Doctor Who'' universe. All other articles should be written as if the described person/object/etc. actually exists, exactly like a normal encyclopaedia. Think of this wiki as an encyclopaedia that ''exists'' in the ''Doctor Who'' universe. All articles should be written from a 'past tense' point of view (except those relating to real people, who do not need to be written in the past tense form).

The TARDIS Doctor Who wiki's point of view (POV) is that of a character inside the Doctor Who Universe (a.k.a. Whoniverse).

The only exceptions to this rule are articles about the Doctor Who franchise and production (eg. articles on tv series, books, comics, actors, staff, etc.), which naturally are not part of the Doctor Who universe. All other articles should be written as if the described person/object/etc. actually exists, exactly like a normal encyclopaedia. Think of this wiki as an encyclopaedia that exists in the Doctor Who universe. All articles should be written from a past-tense point of view (except those relating to real people, which do not need to be written in the past tense).

Examples

Instead of

"...Liz Shaw is a fictional character in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who..."

Use

"...Liz Shaw was a companion of the Doctor's third incarnation during the early part of his exile on Earth..."

Specific policies

Undisclosed information

There are some cases in Doctor Who stories in which it was made clear that certain information is highly classified or entirely unknown due to memory wipes or similar plot twists. While in theory these things are not known to anyone within the Doctor Who universe, this wiki's POV is all-knowing, just like the television viewer.

Speculation

This wiki discourages "fixing" continuity mistakes by explaining them away or justifying them or otherwise "filling in the gaps".
