Aldridge was a Xing surgeon.
He at one time had a practice on Gallifrey, but left because he regarded the Time Lords as pompous.
Aldridge later moved to Earth and later aided the First Doctor after he lost a hand in a fight with Soul Pirates. In return the Doctor gave him four days of his time. (PROSE: A Big Hand for the Doctor)
