Saab

Saab was a car manufacturer. Gwen Cooper owned a black Saab October 2007. (PROSE: Border Princes) Rhys Williams had a Saab as a company car while working for Harwood's Haulage. (PROSE: Bay of the Dead)

In 2009, Rhys was driving the Saab, with Gwen in the passenger seat, through Grangetown when the pair witnessed a police car crash on Bradford Street; it had swerved to avoid a swarm of zombies. Rhys sped the car down Bradford towards the crumpled police car and its stricken occupants, but a zombie jumped onto the bonnet and caused him to skid out of control and crash the Saab into a line of parked cars. It wouldn't start, so Gwen and Rhys were forced to abandon the vehicle and continue of foot. (PROSE: Bay of the Dead)

Behind the scenes

It is unclear as to whether the Saab featured Bay of the Dead is the same Saab as that featured in Border Princes. No reference is made as to the colour of the Saab in Bay of the Dead, and the fact that Rhys is driving the vehicle, and claims that the car is a "company car", suggests that he owns the vehicle rather than Gwen. Border Princes, however, describes Gwen driving a black Saab after having split from Rhys, suggesting the car to be Gwen's.
