Albrecht Lanz

Major Lanz, representing Nazi Germany, assumed control of the British island of Guernsey by 6:30 on Sunday, 30 June 1940. He set up residence in the Royal Hotel. Because the occupation was so sudden, much of the population hardly noticed until Lanz issued a declaration to that effect at a later point. (PROSE: Just War)
