The German 15th Army was a Wehrmacht field army which formed part of the coastal defences of Nazi-occupied France during World War II.
In May 1944, an Allied deception campaign tricked the Germans into believing they were going to invade the Pas de Calais. The 15th Army was consequently moved from Normandy to defend Calais, weakening the defences of the former where the real Allied invasion landed a month later. (PROSE: The Shadow in the Glass)
