Aldous Huxley was the author of the science fiction novel Brave New World. A copy of the novel was contained in the TARDIS library. (PROSE: The Wheel of Ice)

Huxley died on 22 November 1963, the same day as US President John F. Kennedy and the day before the first broadcast of An Unearthly Child.
