Drako was a Korad and the leader of a haven on Mechanistria. When the First Doctor arrived nearby, Drako sent a soarer to rescue him from being run over by a Grukker and take him to the haven. Drako, having informed the Mechanistrians of the Doctor's arrival, learned that TARDIS could travel through space and time.
